Video 5 - Third Section
The 3rd section deals with block and counter techniques. In addition you are also applying what you have learned in both 1st section (relaxed energy) and 2nd section (relaxation and explosive energy). As you move through the techniques your arms should be relaxed. Only at the end of a strike do you use explosive energy. This can only be generated through relaxation. Initially, you will only be learning the ‘pattern’. As you become more proficient, come back to these notes and try to pick up something new.
Remember the form is your ‘text book’ of Wing Chun or your Wing Chun ‘dictionary’. As your Wing Chun progresses you will find everything comes back to these simple basic principles. Make a habit of doing your 1st form every day to get the most out of it. You can also take snap shots of each individual aspect of the form. Drill small aspects of the form over and over to fully understand it and develop a habit of doing this to help with your training in class.
